Adult Safeguarding Policy

1. Introduction

The Men’s Coach is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all adults participating in coaching, talks, and workshops. This safeguarding policy outlines our commitment to protecting adults, including vulnerable adults, from harm and provides guidelines for preventing and responding to safeguarding concerns.

Information provided by The Men's Coach is intended to promote general wellbeing, not to replace personalised advice you have received based on your individual circumstances. If you have a medical condition, mental health condition, or take medication, consult your healthcare provider before implementing any of the strategies discussed.

2. Definitions

  • Adults: Any individual aged 18 or older.

  • Vulnerable Adults: Adults who may be at greater risk of harm due to factors such as learning disabilities, mental health conditions, or other vulnerabilities.

  • Safeguarding Concerns: Any suspicions, allegations, or reports of harm, abuse, or exploitation of adults participating in our programs.

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): The individual responsible for implementing and overseeing this policy.

3. Safeguarding within a Coaching Environment

The Men’s Coach follows these key safeguarding practices:

  1. Specialist Training: All coaches receive safeguarding training, suicide intervention training, and training on building safe plans.

  2. Discovery Call & Pre-Commitment Exercise: Clients, including vulnerable adults, complete a Discovery Call and a coaching exercise before committing to the programme to ensure it meets their needs and expectations.

  3. Daily Contact: Clients are in regular contact with their coach throughout the programme to support their wellbeing.

  4. Monitoring Client Wellbeing: Depression scores, suicidality, and testosterone levels are tracked through assessments provided as part of the coaching programme.

  5. Health Notifications: Clients are informed if their mental health scores, questionnaire results, or blood biomarkers fall outside ordinary levels.

  6. Signposting for Further Support: If mental health or hormonal markers remain outside the normal range by the end of the programme, clients are guided to seek additional support.
